Advanced Balayage & Modern Colour

Different hair textures and porosities affect how colour is absorbed. Adjust your technique according to hair type:

    • Fine Hair: Lighter strokes, less product to avoid saturation.

    • Thick Hair: More product and careful sectioning for even coverage.

    • Curly or Wavy Hair: Follow natural curl pattern to avoid harsh lines.

    • High Porosity: Use protective treatments to maintain integrity; hair may absorb colour faster.

    • Low Porosity: Pre-treat with heat or porosity equalizers to enhance lift.

    Exercise:

    1. Identify two hair types and describe how you would adjust your balayage application for each.

    2. Note any product or timing adjustments needed.
